Dallas Trip - April 2013

I had such a fun trip to Dallas the first week of April to help with the arrival of Kaitlyn Michelle on April 7.  As an added bonus, Jessica came from North Carolina for the week.

Mother's Day - 2013

Wow!  According to this blog, the last thing that has happened with our family is that David and Rauna got married.  Now that I know how easy it is to blog, I am going to use this to stay in touch.

First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful women in my life.  That includes my sisters and amazing daughters and daughter-in-law and many friends, who have mothered me, or allowed me to mother them.  You are truly inspirational to me. I especially love that you all do it differently, and yet do it exactly right for you and your family.  A special thanks to my own lovely mother, who is not doing very well right now.  To see her at the end of her life is sad, and yet I have so many wonderful memories of the mother she was.  This week Jessica was not feeling well and said that she wished I was closer and could put my hand on her head.  This comment evoked deep memories of my own mother's cool hand on my forehead when I didn't feel well.  It was a touch filled with love that I never forget.  To see the line of love coming from my mother to me and then to my daughters, and now my grandchildren, is to see the eternal perspective of what it all means.  I am so thankful to be tied to all of you with this love.
